Jin10 data reported on April 8, the American clothing company Levi’s stated that as Trump’s high tariffs loom, businesses and consumers are seeking certainty. “Right now, the first thing everyone is trying to deal with, including ourselves, the entire industry, and most importantly, consumers, is uncertainty. We need some clarification,” said Levi’s CEO Michelle Gass. Earlier today, the denim retailer announced its first-quarter performance and maintained its profit and sales expectations for the year. Levi’s did not factor in the impact of the new tariffs in its earnings guidance. She stated during the company’s earnings call that any price increases made to offset tariffs would be “surgical.”
